Wellcome in this online museum of medicine and health care. We show items out of the private collection of Henri Kugener MD.

"I am collecting medical and sanitary stuff since 1970. Some items come from Luxembourg pharmacies and medical ordinations. Most of them have been bought on local fleamarkets and Ebay. Initially the items were preserved in cardboard boxes gathered in removal cartons which progressively stuffed my office in such a manner, that one day my wife decided that there was enough of it. She was absolutely right. After a series of daydreams with my surgical instruments decorating the walls of a suburb pub, i established a contact with the director of the recently created hospital at Luxembourg - Kirchberg. After a lot of discussions a solution was found in 2006, when the nuns offered bying the glass cabinets, the hospital offering the location. This way a public financing of the "museum" was avoided. Suitable and affordable cupboards were found in Auberville in the north of Paris. So the exhibition could finally start in january 2008.

A second location was soon found in the nearby Rehabilitation Hospital, a sitting corner in the ground floor being remodelled into an exhibition surface. The cupboards were offered us by the City administration, when the Museum Pescatore was transformed and equipped with new cabinets.

The last cabinet came recently from the hospital administration as well as from the collegues of the Clinique Bohler as a present to me, when i left at age limit.

So parts of the collection are finally shown to the public in free accessible glass cabinets:

- 10 cabinets in the Hôpital du Kirchberg / Luxembourg,

- 8 cabinets in the RehaZenter / Luxembourg,

- 1 cabinet in the Clinique Dr. Bohler /Luxembourg.

People who are unable or unwilly to visit the original items, may see them online in this place. Please choose your field of interest in the column beside.

The three items below are the last newcomers of the "english page". As the homepage was initially run in german, most of the commentaries are to be found on the german page, yet. Translation will take time, as i am not very firm in english.
